"After perusing the stillphone-book-thick MetroDetroit USBC Assn. averagebook, head over to thetown of Farmington Hillsand check out the pro shop inside Country Lanes. And don't be surprised if you're greeted by a famous bowler or two. This is the home of Aleta Sill's Bowling World, where the USBC Hall of Famer drills balls and gives lessons along with Michelle Mullen under the Your Bowling Coach banner. Sill and Mullen each had been providing bowling lessons for 17 years when the opportunity to open a pro shop came along. It was a welcome opportunity, according to Mullen. "We had run into a lot of bowlers with really bad grips, but we had no way of helping them," she says. "Now, we can help a bowler with every aspect of his game." Some bowlers are intimidated by taking a lesson from a pro, but Sill and Mullen work to make all of their students comfortable. "Our forte is all ages and skill levels," Mullen says. "Whether it's a 91-yearold person, kids, couples, people with autism... we can help them all." Adds Sill: "Our goal is to cultivate bowlers - people who will come back regularly and really get involved in the sport. And we also love to help established bowlers who may be frustrated with their game.
