BPP: April 1, 2008 - Aleta Sill, the first woman bowler to crack the million-dollar mark in professional earnings and a member of Detroit's "Dream Team" of all-time sports greats, just added another honor to an already sterling resume. Sill will be the 110th inductee, and only the seventh woman, to enter the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame June 12. Sill will join the likes of long-time Detroit Tigers shortstop Alan Trammell, football great Mike Ditka and 34-time LPGA titlist Betsy King as a result of her on-lane accomplishments. Sill ended her professional career with 31 tournament titles, 31 perfect 300 games, and nine three-game series of 800 or better. During her 21 years on tour, the 45-year-old lefthander was twice named Woman Bowler of the Year. She also won the Triple Crown of women's pro bowling-the U.S. Open, WIBC/USBC Queens, and Sam's Town Invitational-twice, the first bowler male or female to accomplish that feat.

ALETA: "It's an honor, especially to be in the company of who I will be joining in this hall of fame," Sill said after learning of her election. "I am very proud of my heritage, and I am very honored that [they] are proud of me and my accomplishments. "I have been known most of my career as Aleta Sill, but I will go into this Hall of Fame as Aleta Rzepecki-Sill, honoring my family name."

BPP: Longtime Detroit Free Press sports reporter Matt Fiorito will present Sill for induction during the ceremony. Sill is also a member of the Crestwood High (Dearborn Heights) Hall of Fame as well as the Professional Women's Bowling Association, Dearborn WBA, Detroit WBA, Michigan WBA and United States Bowling Congress Halls of Fame. She becomes the sixth bowler to enter the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame. Since retiring from bowling, Sill has devoted herself to sharing her expertise with bowlers of all skill levels as a coach and pro shop operator. She is co-owner of Aleta Sill's Bowling World Pro Shop in Farmington Hills and YourBowlingCoach(.com), a coaching company, with bowling author and former pro bowler Michelle Mullen. The National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame is located in Troy, Mich. ( www.polishsportshof.org ).
